ViHealth Alternatives for O2Ring Owners
What ViHealth, OSCAR, SleepHQ and PulseOxTracker each do with O2Ring, SleepU and Checkme O2 Max data, and which one fits how you track.
ViHealth is the app Wellue ships with the O2Ring, SleepU and Checkme O2 Max. People usually look for something else for one of three reasons:
- They want more than one night on the same chart.
- They want their oxygen next to their CPAP data.
- They want the raw numbers somewhere other than a phone.
Here's what each option does.
Should you keep ViHealth?
Yes, for most people. It's free, it syncs the device to your phone, and it shows you last night's report. It also exports the PDF and CSV files you'd take to an appointment.
Its limit is that it shows one night at a time. To see what changed over three weeks, you have to open each night in turn.
Fits: you mostly want last night's report.
If you only need your files out of the ring, the free oximeter data export saves each night as a CSV or a raw file without ViHealth.
What does OSCAR do?
OSCAR is a free desktop program for CPAP data. You load the SD card from your machine, and it charts pressure, leak, flow and events. It also imports oximetry from Wellue devices and lines the SpO2 trace up with the machine's night.
That overlay is the reason to use it. The trade-off is that it's a desktop install with a dense interface, built around CPAP.
Fits: you're on CPAP and happy on a desktop.
What does SleepHQ do?
SleepHQ does a similar job in a browser. You upload your CPAP data and oximetry, and you can share a night as a link. There's a free tier and a paid one. Like OSCAR, it's built around the machine's data, with oximetry as an extra layer.
Fits: you're on CPAP and don't want to install anything, or you share your nights with other people.
If you use either one, read tracking your oxygen alongside CPAP for what the two sets of numbers can and can't tell you.
What does PulseOxTracker do?
This one is ours.
It's for owners who want weeks of nights in one place, whether or not they use CPAP.
- Sync the device over Bluetooth in Chrome or Edge, or import your ViHealth CSV files in bulk.
- See every night on one trend.
- Tag a night with what you did, and log things like bedtime, alcohol, room temperature or sleeping position.
- Put two nights side by side.
It doesn't read CPAP data. If your question is about pressure or leak, use OSCAR or SleepHQ.
Fits: you're running your own self-experiments over weeks.
What about snoring apps?
They record sound, not oxygen, so they don't replace any of these. See snoring apps vs oximeters.
Which one should you pick?
- On CPAP, want everything overlaid: OSCAR on a desktop, SleepHQ in a browser.
- Ring only, one night at a time: stay with ViHealth.
- Ring only, want to compare weeks: PulseOxTracker.
You can use more than one. Lots of people keep ViHealth for the morning sync and use a second tool for the long view.
Not sure yet? Export a few nights as CSV so you have the raw files whatever you choose. If you do switch, moving from ViHealth covers how to bring your history with you.
